O come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker [in reverent praise and prayer].
For He is our God
And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Today, if you will hear His voice. (Psalm 95:6-7) As our Shepherd, we trust Him to lead and obedient in following Him where He leads.
The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27) The doorkeeper opens [the gate] for this man, and the sheep hear his voice and pay attention to it. And [knowing that they listen] he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out [to pasture]. When he has brought all his own sheep outside, he walks on ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice and recognize his call. So Jesus said again, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life]. (John 10:3-4,7)
Jesus replied to them, I am the Bread of Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in Me [as Savior] will never be thirsty [for that one will be sustained spiritually]. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but that I [give new life and] raise it up at the last day. For this is My Father’s will and purpose, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him [as Savior] will have eternal life. (John 6:35,39-40) I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he who believes [in Me as Savior--whoever adheres to, trusts in, relies on, and has faith in Me--already] has eternal life [that is, now possesses it]. I am the Bread of Life [the Living Bread, which gives and sustains life]. (John 6:47-48) Following Christ Jesus, the result is a life of peace instead of death. Death is a broken fellowship with God by not walking and following Him. A spitually minded man seeks to know God's voice and follow Him. We set our minds on the things of the Spirit, which results in a life of peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God]. (Romans 8:6) God commands us to love the LORD our God, to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments (precepts). (Deuteronomy 30:16)
How blessed and favored by God are [those with personal integrity, the upright, the guileless], Who walk in the law [and who are guided by the precepts and revealed will] of the LORD. (Psalm 119:1) When we are in fellowship with God, we listen to His commandments, trust and have faith in Him, and follow Him.
We walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief and trust in God. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Those who walk with God will be fruitful. .
Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the LORD
And whose hope and confident expectation is the LORD.
For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters,
That spreads out its roots by the river;
And will not fear the heat when it comes;
But its leaves will be green and moist.
And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought
Nor stop bearing fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8) His delight is in the law of the LORD,
And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.
And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season;
Its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity. (Psalm 1:2-3)
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him. (Colossians 2:6) Our walk with God must be rooted in faith, rooted in Him, just as salvation.
Guide us in Your truth and teach us, For You are the God of our salvation. (Psalm 25:5)
The LORD is our Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield us], we shall not want. (Psalm 23:1) They who seek the LORD will not lack any good thing. (Psalm 34:10)
