For the high and exalted One He who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy says this, I dwell on the high and holy place, But also with the contrite and humble in spirit In order to revive the spirit of the humble And to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15) Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love [toward one another], knit together in spirit, intent on one purpose [and living a life that reflects your faith and spreads the gospel—the good news regarding salvation through faith in Christ.
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. (Philippians 2:2-3) Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST (renewal, blessed quiet) FOR YOUR SOULS.
For My yoke is easy [to bear], and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30)
Before disaster, the heart of a man is haughty and filled with self-importance, But humility comes before honor. (Proverbs 18:12)
A man’s pride and sense of self-importance will bring him down, But he who has a humble spirit will obtain honor. (Proverbs 29:23)
Those who honor themselves will be humbled, but people who humble themselves will be honored. (Luke 14:11) Therefore, it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD and HAUGHTY, BUT [continually] GIVES [the gift of] GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." James 4:6)
Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, Yet He gives His grace [His undeserved favor] to the humble. (Proverbs 3:34) To scorners whom God also is scornful and the humble to whom God gives favor. God pours out His grace to those who practice humility. Humility is the key to being led in what is right and learning God's way.
He leads humble people to do what is right, and he teaches them his way. (Psalm 25:9)
The reward of humility to the reverent worshipful [that true reverence can drive out pride and fill the heart with humility], God desires that His worshippers have a heart that follows Him. One that seeks to follow His ways. He desires us to live in humility and obedience toward Him. The fear of the LORD is riches, honor, and life. (Proverbs 22:4) When we grow in humility, there's a reward that comes with that, honor and life. He who pursues righteousness and loving devotion finds life, righteousness, and honor. (Proverbs 21:21)
